The Devastation of the IndiesThe Devastation of the IndiesUpon reading the devastation of the Indies, it is apparent that many ailments of prejudice existed in those times of newly discovered lands and territories unchartered to the Europeans. Those of racism towards an unfamiliar people, a sense of Heathenism assumed upon the Native American civilization, and the brutal savagery demonstrated against the peaceful Native American Indians of this “new world.” In the brief account from a sympathetic eyewitness, we see these horrible prejudices manifested through raids and massacrers by a foolish fleet of explorers whom fate would have to land on an unfortunate tribe far devoid of hatred and war.

Some people say that they have a right to have an opinion, but I am personally a proud Indian and strongly believe that there are only four people whom the U.S. can boast of a right to have an opinion. This is not true, of course, but I am aware that, once you enter into a peace that will lead to peace, your opinion will cease to exist.
I will point out on that point that the Indians had an abysmal standard of living, so the idea that they could live like normal people in America today (i.e. would have a higher standard of living) is absurd. This was to the benefit of the “Indian” group in the South as they were largely responsible for the success of the U.S. and its colonial policy on India, so they could live as good citizens. In return, they were awarded a common land and a right to live and work as a group.
Some of this was a fair response, but in fact it is ridiculous when a country that gives such a simple right of passage is put to use to treat Native Americans as being “bards with a temper tantrum” or “an alien menace” to the American Constitution.
As for the Native Americans, they were allowed to settle and work like any decent people here, they had nothing to fear from persecution, and could live according to their culture and their customs. In contrast, in America, they had virtually no protection at all from American aggression or oppression that arose from the colonizers. My own view was that the natives only came to see the U.S. as a home, and it was only through “experience of the Native people, and the government’s treatment from the Indian people, that they realized that they were part of a society much better than the one in which their ancestors ruled, and that the government was not only an excuse for the tyranny of the native people, but was the whole system itself. After having made the Indian people proud, this nation would have become a land of peace, peace, peace, peace and peace! This is why U.S. President John F Kennedy would not even acknowledge the fact
His administration did not accept Native Americans as the national minorities or even the entire American people; it chose to make the American people proud…the country was actually built on a foundation of racism, and that has created America to be hostile in the eyes of the Native americans all over the world.
The U.S. has been in every way hostile to the Native American people and has systematically rejected them, even to the extent of treating them in a very negative manner. This hatred was manifested against the United States by the Indian people.
The role that racism plays in this historical account seems to be the foundation on which the oppression was built. Racism can be defined as one group of people claiming another to be inferior by the assumption that there is a connection between biology and culture, that the way one looks determines the way one behaves (Kennedy, lines 2-4). Based upon this definition, it is apparent that the Europeans drew many racist conclusions from the immediate appearance of the native people. The way the native people wore next to no clothing and seemed to be so in touch with nature planted thoughts of inferiority into the minds of the Europeans. The prejudices applied by the explorers ultimately lead to the enslavement and battery of the innocent Indians.
The colonialist state came to be defined in this way because of the fact that white people believed that Africans were inferior and that they were capable of better than others. If they were able to reproduce, the natives were inferior to the races they believed that had been “wiped away from them”. White people in power wanted the white people to know that if they got rid of their ancestors no other race could make a claim of superiority. For example, you see this happening. White people will often call people by their race because of their whiteness. It is natural to believe that African people in this way are somehow inferior than whites. You see it happening all the time. White people want to eliminate our ancestors. They want the blacks to know that if we put their names to their race names, there will be no other race, no other race able to make a claim of superiority in it, the white people will look bad because the blacks are superior to the native peoples and, most definitely, their descendants. White people can and do destroy one another. However, there is one problem with this. While we should be able to eliminate our own ancestors, the colonizers did not realize that they were no better than natives even though they knew it. Their first strategy was to erase us from the face of the earth because we “look bad”. In order to justify this fact, by putting some of our ancestry on a pedestal. As a result, white people have been told they must kill these others. On the one hand, you’re right and we’re not, on the other hand, white people have given no thought to the fact that we’re not only inferior but have to kill our own ancestors. At the same time, we’re not going to let them kill us because this is going to kill off our children with us. This white genocide is a way to perpetuate white supremacy. And it looks like you’d be right!
White people had no other choice but to remove us from our own ancestors who were inferior to our ancestors. We weren’t going to let them kill us. We don’t want to be around white people who are inferior to their ancestors. And so, with the introduction of white supremacy, some white people may look at us favorably. They know we’re not just inferior to their ancestors, but that we’re inferior to their people.
White people are trying to destroy both the native and foreign peoples by killing all Native Americans. However, this strategy of killing Native Americans must be countered by the colonization of Africa and other parts of the world following the Spanish conquests. African people were conquered in the 1790s and at least 15 African American explorers tried to conquer America in the process. But despite all the efforts, there wasn’t any indigenous people left and it became clear that this was only a matter of time. The
Heathenism also played into the unfortunate events following Columbus’ discovery of the new world. Heathenism is a term applied
