Organized Crime
There are two different types of organizations within organized crime called the bureaucratic and patron-client organizations. In this paper we will compare the bureaucratic and patron-client organizations and this will include some similarities and differences between the main models of organized crime and why these models are important for understanding organized crime. We will also be learning about organized crime and how the detection of criminal activity is made difficult for law enforcement. Understanding both organizations will give us the understanding of how it exists in our society and how it can be detected.Bureaucratic OrganizationsWith bureaucratic businesses there are limitations set to disable workers from making everyday decisions that are needed for business. These limitations for decision making include plans, procedures, regulations, procedure and techniques. Individuals who hold lower positions within the bureaucratic business do not making assessments without manager approval. The bureaucratic principle is that accreditation must be submitted through the administration before an evaluation may be submitted or finished. The negatives of a bureaucratic business would be that the administration would take the blame if anything financially or common problems occur. In a bureaucratic organization the criminal activity is carried out by the lower members but the higher members make all of the decisions.Patron-Client OrganizationWith the patron-client businesses the members that are considered lower in position have the ability with self-approval to receive outer associates and manage the company without approval. The advantage of this business workings is that the company is able to reap all of the advantages as well as earnings quicker and easier by not having to go through higher officials for every decision they make concerning business. The patron client business share the blame if there are any problems and each member is accountable for their achievements or failures in business decisions. In a patron-client organization the criminal activity is carried out by mostly every member that is a part of the organization.
