Business Case
We, Group 1, recently made a change in our approach to the assignments.
Upon finding out that we had different views on the Business Case, we revisited and rewrote the document in order to have a common understanding of the project.
We achieved this by having a face-to-face meeting, answering all questions, before embarking on the revision. This kept the group members on the same page during the revision. In addition, we completed the document in a timely manner.
With the revised Business Case, we immediately agreed on the scope, objectives and participants in the project and were able to come up with the Project Charter and Scope with less effort and in quick time.
Everything else remained the same asides from the “face-to-face meeting before starting an assignment” approach. We used Google docs to collaborate and draft the document. Although each member took responsibility of subject areas that he/she was good at, everyone contributed to the other subject area.
We, Group 1, found the different areas involved in approaching the assignment such as research and analysis, essay writing, etc. We also found each member’s strengths that are specifically applicable to the topics brought up in the assignment and split the work accordingly in order to save time and have a quality finish to the business case. We corresponded using Google Docs.
I learnt how to write good business cases as a document to impact a client’s decision positively. I also learnt the significance of a financial matrix in a business case and how to better present financial data to clients. The supplementary text materials like the templates found on the publishers website were very helpful guides in coming up with a well presentable financial matrix and business case document as a whole
