PURPOSE OF THE ENTERPRISE
Previous observations have shown that too many building contractors and individuals are victims of thefts on construction sites as well as their homes.
The purpose of the enterprise is to provide the following services to its customers:
24hour security watch on unattended private properties/constructions
Security watch on unattended construction materials
Night security watch on construction sites
EXECUTIVE SUMMERY
The name of the business is Special Property Watch. The office of the business will be located in Port Louis. It will be a close corporation. Devendre Kumar HEERAH solely owns the business. Special Property Watch will be funded by an initial investment of Rs 2 000 000. Devendre Kumar HEERAH will manage the business. For more information on the owner, refer to Addendum A.
MISSION
Special Property Watch will provide security watch for private property owners in residential areas and flats in Port Louis and neighboring residential plots.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives for Special Property Watch:
To be viewed as a premium security watch in Port Louis, Mauritius.
To make a turnover of Rs 2 500 000 in the second year of operation.
To achieve a net profit margin of 35-40%
The business requires a total capital of Rs 1 200 000. All of the capital will be financed by means of borrowed fund using personal insurance policies as collateral.
The loan will be used to:
Pay staff for three months
Pay for initial advertising cost
Acquire assets (vehicles, auto cycles and mobile phones)
BUSINESS INFORMATION
Special Property Watch will be providing customers with three services: 24 hour watch of private properties, night and day security watch on construction site. It is a close corporation. Operations will start on the 1st July 2011.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
The office hours will be from 06 00 to 18 00. However, there will be a 24 hour hotline available. The business will be busiest on weekends and during public holidays when most people are enjoying outdoor activities. Pricing will be set at a mark-up of 60% on cost.
PERSONNEL AND ORGANISATION
The working staff will be composed as follows:
Manager: 1
Receptionist: 1
Book-keeper: 1
Security guards: 3 per residential areas
Receptionists will be responsible to communicate with security guards at 1-hour internal and to receive requests from prospective customers.
Book-keeper will be responsible for accounting purposes, working one full day weekly.
Security guards will be on the site equipped with auto cycles and mobile phones. Every half-hour they will ride through the residential areas and communicate to the office on a 1-hour interval. Whenever any abnormality is detected, the office is informed who in turn will inform the nearest Police Station before reaching the spot within the next half-hour.
MARKETING INFORMATION/ANALYSIS
Most of the residential areas are occupied by above medium-class families earning over Rs 50,000 monthly. Nearly all of them keep their valuables at home and most of them are engaged in out-door activities during weekends. The Special Property Watch will watch over their premises covering a 24-hour service.
