Introduction
Personal and professional Development Planning is a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual which reflect upon their own learning, performance and achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development. Now a days it is a common process in practice by the government and business organisation to develop and implement an personal and professional development plan of an employee which helps to achieve potential and reach goals at work place and in personal life.
The aims and objectives for personal and professional development plan is to improve our capacity to understand what and how we are learning, and to review, plan and take responsibility for own learning and career choices. Every individual should be more effective, independent, and confident self directed learners, improve their general skills for study and career management, and encourage a positive attitude to learning throughout life.

Career Choices & Personal Development
Career choices are so complex nowadays that perhaps people need to write their own career handbook, one that is personal to them. This is because regardless of the career choices people make a successful career path must lead to a career that fulfils only each individuals own hopes, dream and aspirations.
Managers are trying to be more flexible and preparing themselves for as many different career oppurtunities as possible. They are looking for integrated, realistic, specific and dynamic companies.
A career is an important aspect of an individuals life, where the individual has to look at his/her past, present and future and match with internal careers and external careers for his/her career satisfaction.
There are some questions about my career, which are
Q. Where am I now?
A. I am pursuing my Masters of Business Administration at Cavendish College which is affiliated to Sunderland University.
Q. How am I here?
A. I am a Pharmacy gradute and after I finished my graduation and joined a pharmaceutical company as trainee chemist and after six years of experience I got promoted as senior production chemist and worked for two years and it was my dead end and I could not see my future and I thought of doing a management course to learn and develop skills involved in the production, quality, and people management. So why I am here now.
Q. Where I want to be?
A. It is my dream to start a chain of retail pharmacy business in india. I am planning to join internship programme to gain some knowledge about how the retail chain pharmacy works for six months to one year at boots or Lloyds pharmacy.

Mentoring is a powerful personal development and empowerment tool. It is an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers and is becoming increasing popular as its potential is realised. It is a partnership between two people (mentor and mentee) normally working in a similar field or sharing similar experiences. It is a helpful relationship based upon mutual trust and respect.
