CASE ANALYSIS INSTRUCTIONS
While reading and analyzing the cases please follow the instructions listed below:
Do not look for any solutions in the case or any outcomes from the case, cases are basis of class discussions meant to help understand the topic or context better
Read the case at least 4-5 times before you actually start analyzing the case
After having read the case 4-5 times start putting partitions to the case in terms of timelines, organizational activities or any other basis that you deem fit in the context of the case
It will be a good idea, while preparing for the case, to do a joint/group discussion which helps in better and effective learning. There are many points which you may miss out while preparing individually and they usually come out in a group.
The weightage for class participation is being changed to about 50%, so please ensure that the class preparation for the cases is done thoroughly and effectively.
While reading and analyzing the case, please remain within the context of the case. Do not try and go outside the purview of the case. It is quite likely that the context would have changed since the case was developed. But we are more concerned in the context and timeframe in which it was written.
Participants are also advised to listen to other people viewpoints while trying to answer the case. Sometimes it is possible that there are better and effective viewpoints that come out while the discussion is underway, which could be a rider to what you wish to say
At the end, I wish to again reiterate that the only way to do well in a case discussion is to prepare well for the case and thoroughly.
