Our society has experience many technological changes over the last 70 years. Most people would say; “Televisions were the most technological advance ever created,” Some others would; say “No, the most important technological advance has been the telephone.” I personally agree with both opinions, but I must say; cell phones have created the most revolutionary effect on the American way of life.
At the very beginning of its existence, it was for the exclusive use of multimillion corporations and the government because of its high cost. As the technology research was incremented in this area, the smaller in size the cell phone became to be. Today, the cell phone has been transformed into a very convenience device, not only for its appearance, size and price, but as well for its usage in this changing world.
The reduction on its size and weight was very attractive to everybody looking to buy one. They could now fit virtually anywhere; backpacks, pockets, purses, the problem now was the cost, its price was still too high for the rest of the mortals. The market of this product was only for people who could truly afford them, what about the rest, what about me? I want to use this technological gadget but I cannot afford it.
As the massive production of this item was incremented each month over the past 7 years in order to get more people to buy this product, while a decreasing tendency on sales due of it high cost, drove the main cell phone manufacturers to decide on dropping the price in order to be more accessible to the rest of the population. The results now are 7 out of 10 Americans have a cell phone in their pockets and they do use it.
