Change ProposalIvette MontanoHRM/310October 5, 2015Carol WillettReason for ChangeChange management is an important role in organizational restructuring or implementation of something new. It is not easy, but needed for organizational growth. It is important when processing change that a well thought out plan is administered correctly. Change is a constant need for the IT department to maintain business growth. Technology is an evolution of continuous change with endless opportunities of change in the business world. These opportunities for growth help make an organization expand. Technology is the key component to keeping up with the competition and get the edge on the market. Being a head of the game, provides for a larger edge to the business needs. Change can open doors of great growth and competitive challenges. When change need to happen, it mandates attention to make sure that the right method, techniques and tools are being used to its full potential. Change DimensionsIt is a general understanding, that when change is needed, there are different elements that will apply to the strategic change. IT is a department that affects the whole organization and its internal critical information. Change needs to be detailed and accurate when it comes to the sensitive information IT maintains. The IT department at Kudler’s maintains and secures the customers information to make sure they have the facility to order and the security they need to protect their money. The easier it is to obtain customer information, the more important it is for IT to make sure all the security measures are in place to protect all parties involved.
There are four elements that dictate change management and helps apply the change more effectively. It is important to keep consistency with a common denominator to make it work. The four steps that are normally used to facilitate change are reality check, prepare, implement and consolidate. The first step in getting ready for change is important to explain the current conditions and what is being changed for the future. A reality check is actually understanding what is now and what needs to change for the future to make it work. It clarifies the vision, need, leadership and execution of the change that will determine the urgency of the project. The second step is about preparing the elements for the defense of implementation. It is important to have all those affected to be involved in the common vision that will help create the necessary drive to move things forward towards the targeted change. Communication is key to make sure all the key players are clear on the requirements involved for change. There should be phases for the communication to help them prepare for the process to come.
