Roles of Managers and Individuals PaperMGT/426Roles of Managers and Individuals PaperEvery organization has their reasons why applying the changing agents are an important role in their decision making and why management and individuals have a major role. Two Types of Change AgentsThe two types of change agents are internal and external. Managers and employees are considered internal agents, where consultants from outside the firm are considered external. (Lunenburg, 2010). Internal change agents are mainly responsible for internal changes that implements changes through a specific process to coordinate the change effort. Also having an internal change agent is more economical to the company since they are already employed by the company. They also work for an internal change affect to implement the change process. External change agents are hired by a company to complete certain aspects of the changing process that are not necessarily in detail. An external change agent only outlines the change process and they primarily give recommendation, they do not work as a linkage person.(Lunenburg,2010)Roles in Management“‘You have people who are with you from the beginning. Some you have to convince with arguments and pick your battles. There will always be people who will not be with you, and they frustrate the effort in a silent, subdued way every way they can. Those you have to take out.’”(Kleisterlee, 2007) The Roles of management in any business is to decide on which direction to make the employees feel more comfortable and adaptable to change without feeling any discomfort and making the change as smooth as possible. As a manager you must be able to strategize in a way that the employees minimize the change affect and how they might feel in the process. The goal would be to make changes that the employees would be able to make a smooth transaction without feeling any major discomforts in their working environment. There will always be individuals that dread any changes to their daily part in their routine and that are why as management is very important on how they approach any change. Roles of individuals Roles of individuals should be positive but sometimes can also be unconstructive. Any employee that is in an organization that is going to implement major changes should be cooperative and should try to implement changes and adapt to change. It might be difficult for individuals to have to be re-trained for a new position; however they should be pleased that they are given a different opportunity and not being terminated. In some cases employees need to be very cooperative and understand that change is not easy but can be a very smart way of doing business. By implementing change there is a possibility that the company will be doing this for the employees work strategy and are ultimately trying to make the employee’s job easier and more efficient. Another role of individuals should be to not fight any changes. They should be appreciative that the employer and their management team want to make changes. Changes is always a good thing in my opinion, because after years of doing the repetitive work one can get ultimately bored with their job and might find it fascinating that the job can be done in a easier and faster way. So any employee that doesn’t want to accept and adapt change then should find another job opportunity elsewhere.
