To Kill a Mockingbird is written by Harper Lee it is one of many his books, which made him
famous. Lees story of the events the trial has been admired for it is portrayal of Southern life
during the 1930s, not only for examination of the causes and effects of racism, but because it
created a model of tolerance and courage in the character of Atticus Finch.
The story happened in the Maycomb small town in Alabama, where black folks are served
discrimination and racism.
After read this book, I can say that Atticus Finch can called hero. He is a lawyer and devoted
father. He teaches his children and the people of Maycomb how to stand up for ones belief in
the face of prejudice and ignorance even when faced with the possibility of being looked down
upon and scorned. Atticus looked past the racism that was in the courtroom where Tom was
being accused of raping a woman and he stood up for him. Atticus believed in equality
amongst people. He is the father of two children, which educates with the help of Calpurnia.
She is a black house cooker.
Atticus is responsible, because he educated his children and feed them. For example, Atticus
teaches Scout how to read at an early age and continues to help her practice by reading
newspaper with her every evening. He educated also, like be a good person. Atticus allows his
children to judge all people equally and chose their friends for themselves, for instance when
Boo Radley wanted to be, friend Jem and Scout he accepted this. ” You never really understand
a person until you consider things from his point of viewuntil you climb into his skin and walk
around in it”(30).
Atticus is also a very fair man, he treats his children equally and does not beat them he also does
not stereotype his children or any other person, he doesnt mind if Scout is a Tomboy.
Atticus is one of few, who does not judge people by their skin color. Atticus honesty made him
obliged to take the Tom Robinson. He would not have been able to live with himself if Tom had
not got fair trial. Atticus
