Cortazar – Argentine Author
Cortázar is an Argentine author, short story writer, and interpreter, whose intricately
exploratory fantasies have been contrasted with work by Borges, Kafka, and Joyce.
Many of Julio Cortazar’ short stories depict people who are distressed by delusions, mind
flights, and nightmares. These clear and vivid fantasies are regularly expressive of the
characters profound estrangement, guilt, or fear. In Cortázars short fiction, the interaction
between fantasy and reality is of two unique examples. Now and again the hallucinations of
the characters go about as a constructive power, putting forth relief and even unexpected

From reading Cortázar’ short story “Continuity of Parks” it sets out a puzzle which the
reader must solve , as reality and fantasy cross . In fact, however, no solution is possible, and
Cortázar shows no interested in puzzles in the first place. On a fundamental level, the short
