He prepared to plunge his knife into the chest of his own father as he was sleeping. âHappy birthday daddyâ he said just as he thrust the knife through his ribcage.
âWhoa!â Jeff said as he woke up from his haunting dream. âThat was weird. It seemed so real too!â He said to himself. As Jeff got ready for school he had it on his mind the whole time. What did it mean? He kept wondering. Upon going downstairs, he remembered that it was his fathersâ birthday that day. His mother had set up a huge breakfast for her husband on the kitchen table and the rest of the family was sitting around the table eating it. âWell you took your time didnât you boy?â his mother said to him as he got to the bottom of the stairs. âSorry mum, my mind was a million miles awayâ Jeff replied as he sat down at the table and served himself some bacon. âWell you better be out there with your mind âcos Im gonna bring a world of pain down onto you. Did you forget you fathers birthday present?â She snapped at him. âIm gonna have to pick it up after school mum. I left it at Joes garageâ he replied as he ran out the door.
After school he walked over to Joes Garage. âHey! Joe! You here?â he yelled out from the door. âYeah. Im under the HQ sandman with all the different panels buddyâ came a voice from under one of the many wrecked cars currently being restored. âJust a sec.â Jeff heard as a tall man slid out from under the car. Jeff went to shake his hand but had second thoughts about it as he was covered in grease. âYou got it here?â Jeff asked him. âYeah its in the back Iâll just go grab it for ya.â Joe replied as he started to walk towards the back of the car. âHere, catch he said as pulled a box out of the back and threw it at Jeff. âThanks, mate, Iâd love to hang around but Iâve gotta run. Iâll see ya tomorrow ok?â Jeff said as he started walking out of the garage. âYeah thatâs fine buddy but youâve gotta help me with this lump ok?â Joe yelled at him as Jeff reached the garage door. âByeâ they both yelled out.
When he got home, the whole family was there including Jeffâs fathersâ side of the family. After a few quick helloâs Jeff ran over to his dad and gave him his present. âWell. Open itâ he said as his father stared at it. His father untied the string around it and ripped off the wrapping paper to reveal a box, which he then opened and pulled out a large 10-inch knife. âThanks son Iâve been needing
