Why I Want to Go to College
Why I want to go to college?
In my family, I am the first person to go to college right after graduating high school. Going to college would be a new experience for me that I would have to adjust to. I have no one in my family to relate to when it comes to college. Being the first traditional college student is a title that is important to me because I will be the one who breaks the chain. I want fulfill my family’s expectations of me and to be a role model for future generations.
I plan to become a child psychologist and help children that face various mental and emotional issues. I will start my own practice in order to help children who are struggling with those issues so that they can improve their mental health and ultimately find happiness. To become a child psychologist, I will have to attend graduate school and receive a doctorate degree to further my studies and be certified in that field. In particular, I intend to pursue graduate training in clinical psychology. I also plan to learn about the field of politics so that I can incorporate my psychological expertise into a career in political advocacy later in life. As an advocate for children, I will share my thoughts about the different struggles of children and anything else that concerns them from a political point of view. In my roles as a child psychologist and advocate, I could impact a child’s life by helping with educational rights child abuse rights, and many more.
In college, I also aspire to be an advocate for not only children but for the rights of women. I will create my own organization for teens. I plan to work with teens because they are at the age to where they understand more and they are the ones who are being influenced most. One program that I would like to offer is catered to teen girls and will help them develop leadership skills and break down any negative stereotypes they may believe about themselves. This is important because
