In Mark HaddonЎЇs ÐŽoThe curious incident of the dog in the night-timeÐŽ± is a moving experience told in the eyes of someone who is not likely not similar to us. He views the world in a unique and systematic way, where everything around him is similar to his own thoughts and ideas. Christopher John Francis Boone is a kid who knows all the countries of the world and their respective capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. Many would call him a genius except that he is autistic. One night he discovers the body of Wellington, the dog of his neighbor Mrs. Shears. Our protagonist decides to investigate the murder against his fatherЎЇs wishes (A foreshadow). His father is the sole care-taker of Christopher since his mother passed away two years ago. He starts his investigation by going around the neighborhood and from Mrs. Alexander, his neighbor; he finds out that his mother had an affair with Mr. Shears. ChristopherЎЇs father finds the book where he wrote the journal entries for his investigation. They get into a fight and Mr. Boone takes ChristopherЎЇs book away. To reconcile with his son, Mr. Boone takes Christopher to the zoo assuring his son that he loves him. The next day, Christopher decides to find his book again. He searches the entire house eventually ending up in his dadЎЇs room. There finds letters from his mother and realizes that she is still alive! ChristopherЎЇs dad finds him in the room traumatized by this revelation and apologizes confessing that he also killed Wellington. Thinking that since his dad was capable of killing Wellington his dad could also kill him, Christopher chooses to run away and to London where his mom now lives with Mr. Shears. Mark HaddonЎЇs story through description and characterization highlights the theme of order and stability that Christopher must find.
