The Devil Wears Prada
Imagine that you get a job, who millions of girls would kill for, even sacrifice their own lives, just to get that job. That is exactly what happens to the newly qualified college student, Andrea. The dream is to get hired on The New Yorker newsdesk, which wasnt that easy to get in the first place, so she starts with an unsolicited application to the magazine called Elias-Clarks, where she surprisingly get called into an job interview the week after. Right after its too late, it came out that the job isnt on one of theese more serious magazines, but the fashion magazine called Runway – and that she wont be employeed to write, but instead to fulfill the editor in chief Miranda Priestleys states and – especially – states requirements. The contract is obeying on one year, and in this year, Andrea will get enough things to worry about. Not only, she has to be at the disposal of Mirandas whims day and night and often must guess, what exactly the woman means, when she asks her to: pack the bags, pick up her kids at school, order lunch and arrange parties. She is – at the same time – also busy trying to find out who she really is.

I occasionally by myself compared the movie to The Cinderella Story, when I got theese associations about the main character who totes and works really hard to fulfill the “evil stepmothers” wishes. With theese considerations I made, meanwhile watching it, the movie got more and more predictable and I honestly must admit that, I got really dissapointed over the fact that “cinderella” won her prince back in the end.

I would obviously recommend the movie, AND the book. Meryl Streep in the role of Miranda who is this popular bitch, which she was able to play outstanding. And not to mention, she immediately fulfilled my inner picture of, how this woman is in reality. On the basis of the reviews, when it first came to the cinema, I was very impressed over the touching acting.
