Climate Change
Climate ChangeAllan AquinoHUM/115Oct. 5, 2016Lisa LundbergClimate ChangeMajority of us are blinded by what is not important in the world, for example, TV drama shows (reality TV), social media trends or derailed by ongoing crimes or politics that overlook environmental issues.  What little do most know is that, global warming is affecting us and we are not doing much to prevent this from happening.  Climate change is a huge matter that should be taken seriously; immediate action should be taken.  We, as a whole must contribute in decreasing the ever rapid change of our climate.  I found this article by Chad Myers, a CNN Meteorologist to be a reliable source because, also sited on this article are videos solidifying his argument to these dramatic climate changes, charts, and also graphs.  Another reason why this, to me, has become a reliable source is that it has been recently updated: 1:03 PM ET, Thu August 25, 2016.  The chart provided indicates the Global Land and Ocean Temperature Anomalies – with the earth’s constant temperature fluctuation, it is making marine and land life harder to get acclimated to the climate, thus having a reduction in species and food source.  Another related article that I found to be much more in depth with the climate change and its affects was an article published by multiple authors (Celine Bellard, Cleo Bertelsmeier, Paul Leadley, Willfried Thuiller, and Franck Courchamp: all involved with Ecologie, Systematique & Evolution) with a very credible background.  The insanity with the earth’s climate change affects us dramatically.  The food we eat will become scarce, animals will go extinct if they can no longer adapt to newer temperatures, the plants were not absorbing CO2 fast enough through photosynthesis and converting it to oxygen (Myers, Aug 2015).  Our ecosystem is slowly entering shock due to this.  Not to mention, our water level is increasing.  Those living near the ocean or generally where water surrounds them will be slowly swallowed by a body of water when the earth’s ice caps completely melts.
