After spending most of their day in the office, they often need to rush to go home and spend time with their family and loved ones. These given scenarios introduced the need of “being capable of buying commodities without spending too much time going from one place to another” and gave birth to online shopping. The introduction of online shopping increased the need of businesses to adapt with the modern business competition. Businesses that were experiencing sudden surges of demand for their products had become more assertive when it comes to making sure that their stock levels are always capable of accommodating these demands to sustain growth and stability. Some of them had even started building cloud applications that can help them perform basic but critical business processes like product monitoring, ordering and even distribution of digital products (eBooks, publications and electronic magazines).
According to publishingperspectives.com, the global publishing industry has a total net worth of 80 Billion Euros back in 2011 and was predicted to grow more in the coming years. This expected growth motivates publication giants like Pearson, Reed Elsevier and Thomson-Reuters, O’Reilly and National Book Store Philippines to make their services more accessible and convenient to satisfy their customers. This study is proposed by the proponent for the purpose proving that an implementation of a cloud based application would allow publication retailers to gain more sales and reputation by allowing them to distribute their products in a convenient way for their clients all over the world.Statement of the ProblemIn order for publication retailer companies to keep up with growing demand that publication industry has. They should be capable of delivering products to their customers in a convenient and accessible manner to them and their customers.Unfortunately, there is still a large number of publication retailer companies that are still distributing their products manually. Manual distribution is susceptible to delays caused by unavoidable transportation and accessibility problems; which can cause loss of reputation and sales.
