SWOT Analysis
After looking over the business plan for JavaNet Internet Café, this seems like it will be a great business for the area in which I live. The coffee shop is very unique and also considering the fact that there is no other business competition in this area for JavaNet, this could potentially make for a very good business idea. There are a lot of strengths pointed out in this business plan, however no business plan is without flaws.
One of the strength areas of JavaNet Internet Café business plan is the shop will be a great place for young and old alike to come together and socialize. The fact that they have pointed out in the business plan that JavaNet will offer bakery items as well as the coffee will enable not only those who are coffee drinkers but this is inviting to non-coffee drinkers as well. Being a non-coffee drinker, I am very excited that treats will be offered in this shop just like they are offered in larger chain coffee shops.
The actual business model is rather simple with the type of service being offered, it seems to have a potential to be efficient. There are many people that already know how to use the internet, yet there are still a lot of people who do not. By adding and educational service to a coffee shop was a good idea for those people who enjoy coffee, bakery goods and have spare time on their hands. The companys financial plan seems to be greatly detailed displaying exactly how the funding will work. The outline this company has created is simple but seems to be thorough and looked into well.
The weakness of the JavaNet Internet Café business plan is the fact there is minimal services provided to the prospective customers. The company can offer more items, such as, a gaming area where they can possibly hold monthly tournaments to draw even more customers. There is a possibility the customers may become bored of using the internet while sipping on coffee while eating a vanilla scone. They can also add a computer graphics day of learning to attract a wider variety of people because there are a lot of people who already know how to use the internet. The company seems unique for this time because there are not many coffee shops in business now which offer educational resources. It is innovative for the time being, yet how will they compete in the market when other companies are created and people do not need to learn how to use the internet? The marketing of this company and business is not as clear as it should be. There needs to be more thought put into their marketing strategy so it can be more detailed. If JavaNet offers free trials or a free lesson to lure in the customers, they may attract more people. They should offer memberships and in-store discounts in hopes of sustaining long-term customers. The company should promote through newspaper ads, put out flyers and brochures at local businesses to get their name out to the public
