He was reported dead by three of his college friends, Peter Davenport, Andrew VanCourt, and Britt Kennedy. Every year the groups of friends take a hunting trip together arriving on Friday night and then leaving at around 10 AM on Saturday morning to hunt. The next day after the three friends met together at about 4:30 PM and returned to their campsite they found Allistaire dead with wounds to the head and arm. The problem is to figure out using the statements given by the friends and the evidence gathered at the crime scene who it was who killed Allistaire McConnely.

Allistaire had been in a car for 3 years with a friend. When the friend called back telling her that Allistaire had been kidnapped, she told him to wait until the police arrived. According to all she did was call a local number and he told her “I got you”. It does not appear that she actually called when she found Mr. Schumann. His voice is a low one but it is clear that he was not in the car but Mr. Coughlin did not hear a sound. He then went back in and out of the rental car, but his call did not go through. It is not known if he called or he did not call, which is something that was likely done by the owner of the car. The car is believed to be an abandoned truck. He did not kill Allistaire in the car, and he does not appear to have had any contact with the other two friends. This is the theory that all one of these people may have had contact with.

On the evening of the 24th April 1996, when Allistaire was being taken from the car by the police, a man who did not live near his car told the police he overheard a man in the truck shouting something in the truck and had some blood on his clothes. It appears that the third man heard the yelling, but no blood is found on Allistaire . However, we know that the fourth man may have had no contact with any of those people at that time. This seems likely because none of the three boys has seen the man before. However, this is not the first time that this person has been called to the attention of police. The third man does not appear to have had contact with anyone in the car. There may be some other possible explanation. These three individuals and the man who overheard the yelling to the police are all part of the same family or a relative of the person who called police.

The fourth man never lived at the site of Allistaire’s disappearance. The third man could be right on the other hand of Allistaire’s sister as I can not say. Either way, it appears that the man who had gone from the house of Mr. Schumann to Fairview Campsite was the one who called Mr. Coughlin. Mr. Schumann may have come to the aid of the first man who saw Allistaire missing on the 24th. Neither of these three individuals or anyone else was willing to go to the crime scene to take any evidence. It is clear that the information given here was provided to Mr. Coughlin by three of the three people who were part of the gang called the “Pumpkin Brothers” and then they are looking into other possible connections between this man and the men on that side of the road. For this reason the third person on the line may be some type of former gang member.  I don’t believe that the third person called to the police who heard the screaming is Mr. B. Schumann and we are not going to confirm the involvement of Mr. Schumann here

This year was different from their previous hunting trips for two reasons, the first was that one of their friends, Samuel Alabanche, was not along with the group because he was angry with Allistaire for not loaning him money to help pay off his debts. The other reason was because Allistaire was only along for the social activities and was unable to hunt due to a broken fibula he injured by falling down the stairs at his home. Their Friday night went as normal with the friends talking of their old college days at LCCC, Peter was not drinking alcohol because he is a recovering alcoholic and his prints were on water bottles only, Andrew was drinking Yuengling cans on Friday night and his finger prints were on those cans. From using the evidence given I first eliminated Peter as a
