Colonel Mark A. Brilakis of the U.S. Marine Corps appears to be complaining about how the federal Department of Defense are spending countless money to build and design new warlike models such the F-22 Raptor and the DD(X). He thinks its not worth it to spend $187 million dollars on the F-22 Raptor because its too incredible. Even out-beating the best of the its kind today, it wouldnt do any good because there arent any aircraft that can currently defeat the plane the Raptor is replacing. When fully operational, they will have no earthly rival. Instead of spending some much of the Federal Budgets on these new top-designs, he prefers them to spend it on the many little things that people lack – radios, batteries, field gear, and even buildings with heat.

Among the short list that he argues are the V-22, the DD(X), CVN-21, Future Combat System, and Missile Defense system. The military are spending its vast amount of money on these new designs. With the capabilities-based system, he realizes the top 85 U.S. weapons programs had increased 4.4% or $65 billion. While the military strides in developing better gear, they kept throwing money on the transformation altar by recruiting the smart and the fit. They spend money on education and training.

He talks about the how the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, a proven class of ship without peer in any rival navy. Its soon going to be replaced by the DD(X), a new and even better high equipped warship with hull form, the propulsion system, weapons and combat systems, and etc. It has far more technologies in it than any other ship class in history. An estimated cost of one of these awesome aircraft

is about $3 billion per ship.
General Michael Hagee, Commandant of the Marine Corps, was demonstrating that the basics old techniques of combat can be very practical in dealing with enemies. He had a good effort in shifting the Defense Departments money toward lightening the troops basic load – improving the small unit communications, and ensuring light, effective protective gear. He supports this kind of example because the money is supporting the troops more.

Colonel Mark then goes into a description of the Arleight Burke, Abrams tank, Skyraider airframe, new radios, GPS, jDAMS, and small diameters bombs could
