Many Nations in South East Asia (SEA) was under colonial rule in the 1900s. However, overtime, it dawns on to the locals that nationalism is the next best alternative to colonial rule- due to the policies imposed on the natives that were supposedly to bind them socially, politically, and economically; many felt oppressed and wanted to break away from colonial rule as Nationalism has its antagonists as well as its protagonists.
In the 1900s, strong western powers seek ЎҐhelpЎ¦ from various countries to help them in the quest for raw materials to make their own country even stronger. This led the West to take reign in the Southeast Asia. The western powers claimed to be liberating Southeast Asia from poverty but actually it was done with an ulterior motive; to exploit the abundant raw materials readily available in Southeast Asia. One example is the case of the Dutch Eastern Indies. The Dutch introduced the ЎҐLiberal SystemЎ¦ in 1870. Under this scheme, Dutch investors could not own any land however, they could only lease the land- even if it was to be rented for generations. The more fertile land was subjected to higher taxes; and the taxes imposed were often very much more then they were earning from farming. This enabled the Dutch to take the best and most fertile land denying any chance for local farmers to expand. When it was time to pay their taxes, the farmers
and the Dutch refused. The Dutch used the political and economic system they had created to destroy local farmers – and indeed the Dutch took the land of many, many years as well. The Dutch government was often accused of being a greedy, imperialist group, as well as of trying to “redeem the nation” which was the sole goal. It had a different goal of creating a European Union for people of more skilled extraction: to expand the world market and trade. But they never could and never did achieve the desired outcome. One of the best examples that led to this crisis was the Dutch-Soviet war in 1979 which led to a world war and its aftermath was one of the worst in modern history. The United States led the fight to liberate parts of the world at the time – the Middle East (as well as most of Europe) became a flashpoint. There was so many areas of conflict left that the United States had to intervene to make a real difference. The United Kingdom suffered a terrible loss and was in a recession – a situation that was blamed by all sides (and not the United States as the US government wanted at this time). So much for the Soviet victory. All the other world powers could not help it, so all they did was make things worse. The United Nations Security Council was dissolved and the Security Council ended. There were also wars that led to the deaths of thousands – and, in many cases, the actual destruction of cities. In the last 15 years, around 140 million people have perished and 500,000 are displaced from their homes. Almost 70% of the people of the West are of Eastern and middle Eastern origin. This means that the United States is not an imperialist power with respect to its own people, but an imperialist power with regard to its people. They are not in conflict with their neighbors or with other states of the world. They are fighting with one another and not as one. What can we do about this when the people of the west do not know what is going on? For instance, in a World War 1 confrontation with Russia the U.S. tried to kill President Obama but instead of destroying him they murdered him after realizing that he was an Obama supporter. The U.S. military did the same thing because in fact, most of the soldiers in the U.S. did not like Obama. So how can we stop this from happening? When NATO’s members began getting involved in the World War 1 war, to protect the people in conflict against the U.S., Washington made the mistake of calling them a problem, while failing to deal with major problems of its own people. This leads the rest of the West to ignore the real problems of these forces and start looking for ways around them. And even if we do manage to improve relations, it will remain a big problem until we finally get rid of it within 10 years. It is for that reason – that the West is being manipulated by the likes of Russia and China which are trying to turn these people into puppets of the West. The only way that you can defeat these forces is if you do the things that those forces want you to do. The problem with propaganda and propaganda campaigns nowadays is that they are very effective and are very easy to create. The only way to stop propaganda in the West is with education and with a clear understanding of the nature of propaganda. These are a fundamental three layers of indoctrination which are vital to the development of a strong propaganda system. You must learn about it before you can start to understand the consequences of it! There are two ways we can learn about propaganda.
