By, 1750 there were 13 English Colonies in N. America. They were divided up into 3 groups. The New England Colonies: Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire. The middle Colonies: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey. The Southern Colonies: Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia.
Government
They held meetings when they wanted to talk about an issue, interest, or laws. The laws had to be approved by advisory council, and their government. Some people lived far away so decisions were made at the county level.
Events/Impacts on Colonies
The South was turning to cash crops. Maryland sought after Virginias economy sense tobacco was becoming the main thing. Malaria, Yellow Fever kept life expectancy lower.
Slaves and indentured servants were the backbone of the Southern Colony.
Settlers in the Southern Colonies came to America to seek economic prosperity they couldnt find in their homeland.

Southern Colonies were royal.
Navigation Acts
Crime to teach slaves to read, and write.
Governing farm foods, trade, shipping rates, transportation Coast.
Slave Codes stated that children of slaves were the property of white master, couldnt legally marry, couldnt trade freely between plantations, couldnt sue in court, own property, or testify against white defendant.
Non land owners were relegated as “lower status” , land owning whites were elevated higher.
