The abilities or beliefs of some employees may make them predisposed to poor performance. It is very important for companies to attract employees who are motivated to succeed in the company. These types of employees are valuable assets within a corporation; which is why, it is important to find and retain good quality employees. To attract and retain good talents, a trainers must be familiar with the most effective methods of training. The importance for knowing these things is related to the fact that we need to provide employees with the most helpful training methods available for a great chance at success.
A trainers success depends on their ability to see if training is necessary. Training is not always the answer, sometimes it just a matter of poor performance or motivation. We perform a needs analysis to determine these and other things. The analysis process includes the evaluation of the organization as a whole, from a persons standpoint, and the task being performed task. This practices overall purpose is to develop and retain knowledge employees who are essentially the companies intangible assets.
A needs assessment is used to do exactly what the title tells us, its meant to determine our trainees needs. In this part of the process we are looking for the answer to questions like “Is training necessary? Or is there another problem here?”. Being able to determine this can help the employer save valuable time and money that could run the risk of being spent on unnecessary training. Because most departments have a fixed budgets, it is necessary to always consider eliminating needless costs.
We may well start with determining what the organization is in the market to do, or in other words perform an analysis of the organization. The analysis is to help us learn whether the companies near future supports the need for training. Additionally we learn if managers and or peers are in favor of training and the resources available. There are a few questions every organizational analysis should answer. Will there be an effect on the employees relation with the customers? Should money be spent on this project? Will training be seen an opportunity or threat? Knowing how much the company is willing and able to spend on training. The support of managers and colleges are one of the most helpful allys a trainer can have when starting a training plan. An optimistic attitude is key in the success of training programs. It is common practice to design a training summary of the companies needs as far as education is involved. Another name for this summary is request for proposal or RFP. This report can help pin point the best trainers that meet the standards within the report. The time it may take depends on the technicality of the task being studied.
