Self-reflection Statement:During this program and the thesis project, I have learned a lot of valuable information. I have learned my strengths and weaknesses and learned how to work in teams. First, I will talk about things that I have learned from the program of Msc Business with marketing management. As the program is focused on the business and marketing, I have learned about the global environment of the business and also learned about how to survive with a new business. I have also learned about why businesses go international and the international environment for the businesses. I have learned different strategies on how to enter the international market and what are the global barriers to entrant. The course is also focused on the marketing management which taught me different aspects of marketing in domestic and international scenarios. I have learned about the strategies used in the marketing. I have also learned about segmentation and target markets and how these concepts are used in marketing. I also learned the difference between advertising and marketing as these are two different concepts with the later focused on creating and capturing value for the customer. I have learned about the SWOT and PESTLE analysis and how these are useful for businesses. I have learned how these two are used in decision making regarding marketing perspectives. Now I will talk about the things that I have learned during my research thesis. The research thesis was a first time experience for me and I was both afraid and excited for the project. It was a great experience and I have learned a lot through this research thesis. I have learned about how to use different theoretical concepts in the research and why is literature review so important in the research. I have learned that the whole thesis depends upon the concepts and theories used in the literature review section of the project. I have also learned about different analysis techniques and how to use statistical software SPSS to do analysis of the results. I have also learned from this experience that ethics is really important in research and every researcher has to consider ethics in their research. I have learned what is plagiarism and why it is considered as an ethical issue. I have learned how to avoid plagiarism and how to properly honor the work of others. I have also learned why participants information is confidential and why shouldn’t we collect data without the consent of the participants. I have also learned how to work in teams and what are the things to consider while working in teams. I have learned that when you work in teams, you have to communicate every problem with the other members of the team. This communication part is very necessary according to me because I think that communication plays a vital role in the success of teams or groups. These learning include both academic and professional perspectives and I think that even if the course and the research are academic based, I have gained some useful insights regarding the professional perspectives.
