I can’t stress this enough: this is an important step. Today, you can find Windows 10 apps on practically any Mac or Windows PC, all the way up to Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Mobile. Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows 8 and Windows 10 Mobile all take a long time for users to download, install and try. You end up with a list of all your programs and applications, but few realize that your PC is a complete toolbox. What if you have an expensive PC or a poorly configured computer that you want to use more frequently, but never really use it, until the next version updates? I can’t say that this won’t happen. There are so many interesting Windows 10 mobile apps just waiting that I wouldn’t recommend one. But this is something to keep an eye on. We will be seeing more desktop and tablet apps in the near future!As for those folks who are already downloading new Windows 10 apps, a new version of each app should arrive a week or two after the last updates are in place. The Windows Phone 8 or Windows 8.1 update should make their way from July 13th to September 30th. The updated apps will allow for a more streamlined user experience. The new apps will add content such as Windows 10 Home, Microsoft Cortana for developers, Task Manager, Search, Calendar, Quick Actions, Calendar Keyboards, and more. They’ll also be able to share in-app purchases in Windows 10 for more content.As for security upgrades, the Windows PowerShell 2013 Professional and the previous Enterprise Release of Windows 7 Security Suite has both been released, and two are in store. The Enterprise Edition has been updated to the latest version of Windows 7 Protection Edition and contains Windows security features. The Enterprise Edition includes a number of benefits that are added for the original release (see this update). We don’t want to give up any of those features for Windows 10 users. They are simply new features.If all goes well, the new Insider Preview will be available for free via the Windows Insider program. I’ve been working steadily on this since the Windows Insider Program launched in March 2011, so we will certainly see Microsoft introduce new updates whenever we get the chance. While we can’t keep up with how much of a problem Microsoft is doing, if we are lucky, we will be able to get the new Insider Preview up as soon as possible.
