Consumer Right
Asslamualaikum and good afternoon to everyone. first of all i would to say thank you to everyone for giving me a chance to speak this afternoon. actually this is the first time that i presenting something in front of big person like all of you. i mean higher level of officers.
Ok. today i will be presenting a topic called consumer protection. the reason for me choosing this topic is because it involves all of us every day. for example as illustrated in the picture. No matter in what age you are, whether male or female, all of us are consumers. We can see people in the picture were covered by a big umbrella.
Ussually people will use umbrella because they want to protect themselves from the weather, for example when its hot or rain. Yes the weather brings a lot of benefits to us. The sun helps plants to grow and the rain provides us water to drink and other necessities. But then we still need to protect ourselves against the weather for our own health. The situation is same as the money. We spend our money for our own benefit. However we still need protection to ensure that the money that we spent will not bring any disadvantage or loss to us.
Consumer in this context is referred as a person who acquires or uses goods or services of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household purpose, use or consumption”. This definition was taken from KPDNKK website. Actually the real definition is bit longer than this, but i have to cut it out in order to make it suitable with our scope. Because I want to focus more on us as an individual who buy stuff and use services every day.
Before we go to the protection part, i want to share with all of you some smart consumer tips. I think most of know all of this, but never mind i just share it. At least we are reminding each other on this issue and increase our awareness.First of all, always buy things from reputable sources. For example we see 2 different brands of tomato sauce. The first one is adabi.and the second one is Hammurabi. We now that adabis brand can be trusted, on the other hand this is our first time see this hammurabbi brand. Plus the bottle is quite suspicious it was made in Trinidad Tobago for example. Obviously we need to choose the brand that we trust.
The second one is you need to open your eyes for counterfeits products and fake products. Sometimes we already know the object is a fake products. How come a lous vutton hanbag can be sold at downtown cheras or danau kota. But some people still buy it because it much way cheaper than the original one. But if some peple just want to “nak merasa”, for me it can be accepted.
The third one u need to recognize the quality of a product. Do you poke and prod the products youre about to buy? It may not sound like the most elegant thing to do, but Im really talking more about doing what it takes to recognize how well put together a product is. But u need to be
