This research is conducted to find the gap between government strategies for making transport convenient and checking the actual usability of this facilities. After conducting the background study using secondary research, the problem definition was discussed and finalized following which the objectives were framed. Demographics of respondents majorly consisted of students and professors since the study is conducted in DIAC. The responses were collected using google forms and the analysis was done using coding sheet and regression method.According to the data, it was observed that certain variables were very high on the Likert scale and hence more significant than the others. Based on this observation the study was focused on the most important factors that is waiting time, customer service, fare and safety which helped us to understand the exploratory variable which is the usage and overall experience of public transport in DIAC.
Public transport in UAE is divided into 3 categories and there were multiple explanatory variables which were framed on Likert scale to get level of importance/preference on a symmetric scale, therefore regression analysis has been run three times – for bus, metro and taxi.The respondents were mostly the people in DIAC and most of these people were students who travelled by college bus – here considered as private- and taxi. NO direct metro comes to DIAC and the number of buses that has DIAC on their route is only two.After running the analysis, few variables have been rejected, as after running the regression on the data received it was observed that their p value was more than 0.05. Hence these values fall in the rejection or the grey area of the graph and were not significantly relevant to the study. These variables were comfort, route and availability.The limitations of the research were time, cost, demographic factors and respondent biasness. 1.Research BackgroundAbout RTAThe Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the central authority for public transport in Dubai. It was formed in the 2005. Since Dubai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world today, the presence of an active and convenient infrastructure facilities is one of most important agendas for the government.
