Hi, my name is Sushil. I first came to UK 3 years ago in 2008 from Nepal. Since, I grew up in a different country I had some difficulties getting along here but since I came a across other Nepalese students here just like me it helped me a lot.
The topic that I have chosen to talk about is Discipline. The reason why I chose this topic is because the discipline in UK is different from the discipline which I experienced in Nepal.
In Nepal discipline is very strict almost like a part of our culture. Teachers are highly respected and no students would dare to go against them. Unlike in Britain who got rid of corporal punishment in 1986, we still have it in Nepal. If, anyone here is not familiar with what corporal punishment is, its a kind of physical punishment that involves deliberately inflecting pain for disobeying the order. However, parental punishment is still allowed except in Scotland. But I doubt any parents in UK would really smack their children.
