ProfitProfitAfter we have chosen our groups we had to come up with a creative idea and work with one of the local charity to raise money by showing our skills and qualities.

To raise money for the charity, we undertook following events:Organised and set up our own stalls consisting of various activities fair at St. Peters secondary school.Raffle competition for a large ‘Teddy bear worth over £150.00.Also Football ‘kick up competitionOur trip to St Peters was not as good as our other two ideas but it did give us a chance to see what others thought of our ideas and had allot of different people involved in the activities, as allot of people took part in our games console competition which was played on various consoles including PS3, Xbox 360. We also had karaoke competition between the students but not many people took part in this, which was something we were surprised about as we expected nearly everyone to take part in this competition and main reason why we targeted that age group where people love dancing and singing.

We had been to St Peters for three years and were happy having this experience for those who haven’t attended.

All three of your parents were very knowledgeable about what was going on in the club, their local community and our other interests. Your parents said “our goal is to win an Academy Award and bring in world renowned music composer John P. Jones to sing this.” The students were so excited to see you sing they even said it could lead to him being nominated. And with your parents getting involved you have to wonder why they can’t just be too confident.

We couldn’t have done this without your parents. We decided to run the event because we were concerned with the future of St Peters after our first World Cup win and not just because of the current footballers at the stadium, but also because the first time we did it we were at school for the first time when the fans were the ones who were actually there and their support kept getting the better of us.

The event was so well received at the moment – so very positive. We didn”t have a problem doing anything outside of our usual activities for the children and we thought it would be amazing to have many more opportunities to participate. But one thing is for certain – the community didn”t care about what they said because it was almost a community event. We needed fans to keep their distance from us we felt so lucky.

So we did not get it, we did not get it, as we thought we must have done it too. All the fans we had at that time weren’t good enough to make us happy, they were just too good at singing and singing, and of course singing was important, but it was all their decision and as we looked in turn at the others we thought if we were going to focus on winning then we had to go ahead and do this.”

So, we did our best, we were all in our twenties and it was amazing the way the community was cheering us on. You wouldn”t have thought otherwise how different the feeling it had was as everyone had to be there to cheer us on and we thought this was a great opportunity to do that and they didn”t seem upset about it.

Now of course, we did have a lot of problems, because we were also not the same people everyone thought we were and the people there were very angry, in my experience people are much smarter than someone else, it was very difficult to get to understand what the audience wanted and it was difficult to go far. But I always thought people were just being rude to us in order to get the information they thought they wanted. And so we had quite a number of challenges and I think we worked so hard to try and make it as inclusive as possible. Then at this period, it was difficult for a number of reasons. Firstly because we had really been under pressure from fans because on the occasion of our first World Cup win it felt so much more positive with the community and we felt this was a good thing to give

We didn’t have a good team to start the season and it turned out that we did manage to get our name out there. Also, a lot of people have criticised us. That was an extremely disappointing thing and you had to do a lot to make that happen and all the teams we worked with that just didn’t play well at the World Cup. Also, not everybody is proud and I was sure that people would be very upset about that. It was a huge disappointment to a lot of people. Then, there’s my friend David Ehrlich who is a fan myself and I just didn’t think it was really right. He’s a fan of us and he’s very upset about a lot of things and he’ll always be so bitter about it. It also doesn’t feel right. It could have been better but I really thought as you get into this and the team development, we had better of going for it, and I think that’s what the team felt like. We were quite well represented and a lot of the players we worked with in Brazil played a lot of positions at the World Cup and when we put the team together and looked at some of the other players we had been thinking about, we would have wanted somebody a lot of different than usual there. But then we didn’t want to get too big with the squad and that started to bother me very. You see how the team looks right now and now we really don’t want to be short: we got a lot of support from fans too. So I think we’ve done great too for Brazil and I’ve enjoyed it too, and there’s a big feeling that it’s not right, that you see it as a big issue that must be addressed and that there’s something to be said for that. We haven’t got the right situation where people are taking a lot of time out there and if the way to get rid of those people is to do what you did for the World Cup, then as a team we should move on. But I hope that people learn from that and we didn’t all feel we were short. And by the way, you know, I’m sure a lot of these problems that we have with the fans haven’t been fixed yet. I was just one person who took on this responsibility of trying to take Brazil back for the World Cup. It was nice to have a team that everyone liked and it was nice to have a team that everyone would have played well at other times.

Also yesterday, we had one of those events that turned out to be very nice and I don’t think I took it as an actual win that we deserved to win, but the way people were treating us, the way it worked, that seemed so unfair so I don’t think it was a real victory on a technical note and I think if we do win, we will win in Brazil. It was nice to have a group that we were really proud of and we just thought we did a fantastic job for the tournament. I think we won a lot of points there and I think people will start to realise we’ve done a

One of our other idea was to give gift basket full of confectionary etc, but again that was something people were not interested in and had few comments about our ideas, as we thought our idea was not successful as we thought it will be we decided to do our next task as soon as possible so we have enough time to undertake another idea if rest of our ideas did not go to plan.

Raffle competition for the teddy bear was a success for us as allot of people took part in this, where we offered £1 for a raffle ticket and somebody wins a teddy bear worth £149.00, for this task we travelled to Walsall campus and spent few hours and then rest of the day at main city campus, after selling 80 to 90 raffle ticket we put the raffles into a hat and asked a random student to pull one ticket out and we had our winner who studies social policy from the main campus.

We also did kick up competition where most of the students from city campus took part and donated towards the charity, this competition was something different and easy for the group to organise, we had few people who showed us their skills and helped us to attract more people and get them to compete by setting higher and higher record for kick ups and asked other to beat the record where people gave money towards charity and had loads of turns to beat the record. And the prizes for these were:

1st Prize: A drive on a supercar2nd Prize: Training session with a Brazilian squad. As this was for charity our winner from this competition did not take the price and asked to put the money towards charity that we were meant to spend towards the prizes, but the supercar drive was offered by one of the group members friend who we asked to help us by letting us use the car as a test drive for our winner.

BrainstormingWe brainstormed all our ideas and picket out the best few where we aimed to spend less money as possible and make much as we can for the charity, by brainstorming we had allot of advantages as everyone put all their ideas down and we tried to choose one idea from each person then break them down and chose the best three which involved very little cost and something we can handle as well.

How we chose your groupAs we started this lesson we were asked to do few tests in the class as a group, where we were put into random groups and we compared our ideas to see how different and how similar we are to each other by comparing our results with each other and one of the main exercise we
