Summer vacation was just around the corner as everyone was counting down the days when school would be over. When that day finally came, everyone was celebrating! This years vacation was back home to London, England, where beautiful sceneries were aplenty. The flight from Tampa to London was about ten hours. Leaving at night, around 10:00PM Eastern Time, seemed the most ideal, enabling me to arrive in London during the day.
Upon boarding the airplane and taking off, the blinking and flashing lights from the airport and the street lights from the highway began to fade away into the darkness. Gazing out the window, I was only granted to see the light from the wing of the airplane, as it was pitch black being more than 9,000 meters in the air. After six hours of flight, enjoying a peaceful sleep, and a time zone change, I was awakened by the sweet aroma of freshly cooked breakfast aboard British Airways. I rolled up the window shade, and there was a breathtaking scenery of the rising orange sun, illuminating the sky. After two more hours of flight time, the sun was in its full fledge shining glory, giving ample light to the sky, and brightening up the cabin of the airplane, as many of the passengers were opening up their window shades. There was a sense of warmth in the cabin when the sun shined through the windows. Only adding to the warming experience was the delicious and succulent breakfast that was served. The crispy, sizzling bacon, the juicy sausages, the warm eggs, the crispy hash browns, soft pancakes, the chest-warming hot chocolate and cool rush of apple juice filled my being with gratitude and fullness.
After ten hours or so, the London City International Airport was in view, in the bright, sunny, cloudless afternoon. We touched down and passengers were unloaded into the London City International Airport. I retrieved my baggage and climbed into a taxi to transport me to my hotel room. When I arrived at The Savoy, luck yet again was on my side, as I booked the last river view room on the fifth floor. I entered my room, and awaiting me was a large and elegant window with crimson red drapes, partially illuminating the parlor. I wanted to savor the more significant moments during specific times of the day, so I waited until nightfall, and early in the morning.
Nightfall arrived and I opened the crimson red drapes. What I saw and the view I had was utterly breathtaking. The night sky was completely cloudless, full of stars, more commonly known as a starry night sky. The full moon, in its full, shining glory gave light to the beautiful, calming river facing the hotel. The very brightly lit London Clock Tower was stunning! I proceeded to open the large window. Once the window was slightly ajar, I could hear the gentle rush of the river, having a beautiful reflection of the sky, stars, and moon; I could hear bells from cyclists, saw couples walking hand-in-hand, children full of energy as they stood by the river front,
