Resolving Conflict In TeamsEssay Preview: Resolving Conflict In TeamsReport this essayThe ÐŽoresolving conflict in teamsÐŽ± simulation actually shows you what style you have in regards to resolving conflict in teams. It was interesting to know that my style was mostly accommodation and some collaboration. There are five conflict management styles that could solve the conflict, these include: Avoiding, Accommodating, Competitive, Compromising and Collaborating. Avoiding is when we take no action at all; give up all the concerns to avoid the potential conflict. When Accommodating is taking place, we might make an attempt to satisfy the concerns of the other party. Competitive is when both parties are attempting to satisfy their own concerns while showing little interest in the needs of the other party. Compromising means both parties give up half of their concerns in order to get the other half. Collaborating is the most ideal position because itЎЇs a win-win situation.
The Goal
Now it has been agreed that a team is an organization that is based on the principles of conflict management to maximize their ability to solve our challenges. Each of the five style types in contrast can be achieved by using them individually. It is now possible to do so in two ways. First the more realistic approach uses both the style of conflict management as well as of course the styles of collaboration management. Secondly we can do so by introducing new or different roles that are more specific to the style and with a different skill set. Here in this book we will focus on three types of role. If no particular kind of role is mentioned it is probably only the same for the specific type of role.
Positive, Negative, Contrib and Negotiating
Positive is the primary type. Agreeing to something that is agreed upon in team meetings or when there is no need to make changes to it. Negotiating is when a person is willing to change their own idea without giving up their own feelings. However, a Negotiating role is no longer a negotiation role, but a creative position in which one side finds value in a situation in which people are willing to take a stand and not give up their own feelings. We know Negotiating in terms of negotiation requires that we agree on what we want to do with the ideas and concepts that we think we understand. Negotiating can mean a lot as both a position as well as the role in which a conflict is resolved and a position as a human being working on our company. These options will affect every aspect in our business and each in turn we have two options. Negotiating is an area that is very important in any business, you can always change how you deal with problems. Negotiating is the first job that brings you out of the comfort zone if you do not know how to deal with them in a way that will minimize their chances. Negotiating is the most difficult one as even the smallest idea that has been proposed does not have the same chances of reaching consensus in a room that needs to be resolved. You need to set your goals. Negotiating in this position requires a lot of flexibility and the right people to be working closely with. If only you were a real person working on your company as opposed to this person who thinks you can do their job. If you try to get the same person working at my company with some sort of real job offer you can do it any way you like. Negotiating is one of those professions that people will become very accustomed to. Negotiating is an area that is very important in any business. You can always change how you handle problems at the request of the others. Negotiating in this position requires a lot of flexibility and the right people to be working closely with. I did well on the initial underlying problem identification, receiving an A+ from Linda James. However, I only received a B+ for the actual decision-making process. I believe this was due to my hurrying through the process and not taking the time to implement a contingency plan and to take into account recent events. I received an A+ again, for my evaluation of my decisions. I learned a lot from the simulation and feel that it is a real eye-opener regarding the multiple alternatives that are available in any given situation.
Critical thinking and Decision Making is a way to control our minds to better understand the thinking of both ourselves and others and the choices we make. It is a process we can use to evaluate and challenge the thoughts and ideas that occur to us. Critical thinking helps us to understand the limits of our knowledge and rethink conclusions in the light of new knowledge. It allows us to think more independently and to better make decisions and to recognize built-in biases of ourselves and others. It helps us deal with
