Most people in our country think that people should not live together before marriage. Do you agree with them? What is marriage? It is a procedure that makes your relationship official. It is necessary for formal procedures. For example property sharing. Some people think that if two people want to be with each other it is not necessary to make it official. But in our country that idea is not supported because of some reasons. One is cultural factors and customs the other is religious reasons.

The first is religious reasons. According to Islam if you want to live together with another person you have to marry him. This rule is made to protect people. For example; a man -not all the men- and a woman lives together, if they have a child and if the man does not accept child and leaves them, woman cannot do anything. Because she has no legal rights for this bad situation. In Islam -to protect people- from bad situations like this, living together before marriage is banned. If you have faith in Islam and consider about the other world, you should obey this rule.

The second is cultural reasons. In the past our people got married to each other with a riddiculous methot called “GцrĂ‘Ĺ’cĂ‘Ĺ’ UsulĂ‘Ĺ’” according to this, parents looked for a girl/boy for their children. They choose somebody and told their children “You will marry him/her” and these two people get married. They had not idea about each other. Nowadays this custom is anhilating but it still contiues some regions in our country. If you live together no one can stop you, howewer in in a society which has customs like this, it is not favourable.

As a result of all these religious an customary reasons peole should not live together. If people want and live together that is not the end of the world but it is better not to do it.
