Report on Jane’s Hotel
Introduction:
Jane currently runs a small hotel business based in Medway called Jane’s Hotel; she has been the owner of the hotel for 15 years. Jane’s Hotel has 19 rooms, 12 are double rooms, 3 are twins and 4 are single rooms. Jane does not have a lot of IT knowledge for inputting details and making reservations the only IT system she uses is for a simple account system for her suppliers. At the end of each week she inputs the reservations in to a simple excel spread sheet and then has to work out occupation and other stats. The hotel is making profit but Jane feels that the business will benefit more from a structured IT system. Jane wants two new systems, one is a new system which will replace her reservations book and secondly a new system to manage the marketing of the hotel.
Our team proposes to make a new IT based system which will help the Hotel upgrade its reservation system away from the old method of pen and paper, this system is really outdated and will cause a lot of problems in the long run, so getting a new system should be one of the

Q: What is your current data input method?
A: I write all reservations in a book.
Q: How do you record the transition of payment?
A: I use a receipt book and note down in the reservations book whether they have been paid.
Q: How do you keep the live-booking/Reservation up to date?
A: I use a calendar to cross reference the requests and current reservations.
