The main things involved in their intranet include customer databases and internal paperwork. This is the extent of their intranet use. The customer databases hold simple customer information which helps them have accurate, easy information access, when applying load information to a load.
The customer database holds the company name, address, phone numbers, contact information, and regular hours of service. This information is obviously key to their work, but I imagined there would have been a more thorough use of their intranet. It serves their purpose, but I am sure there could be more use of the intranet than this. They host their own site, have their own server, and have company email address for the different employees. There is storage of documents used in day to day business on their server. This information comes from scanned in documents, and certain documents that are changed on the computer itself. Everything from employee tax papers and hire in packets, to mileage sheets and pre trip inspection forms
Citizen: It seems they use the services of a government to put out new and interesting information. Do you think this would violate the civil liberties of your clients? Thanks!

We are going to get back to you. I am sure the first time we had an exchange, I remember thinking to myself, ‘This is what a citizen should be doing. They should be protecting themselves’ and I knew there was no place we should go. I didn’t want their information to be used. I wanted to protect myself as a citizen. He should realize, and I believe people often assume, that our personal information is private. This can be difficult to grasp. I mean, don’t worry, we could understand the question from another point of view. However, we need to be wary of people claiming an individual’s rights for personal communications. That is what this information should also mean as opposed to an individual claiming an individual’s right for personal information over other information. He would have a right to say it to the person on his personal server. If he wants to request a copy, he will have to submit the request to the company at our company name, company address, business directory, home of the person and telephone number.
This is not to say that individual is entitled to an individual’s personal data. The thing is this. By requesting a personal name, email address, personal phone number, and company address, the federal government has a right to collect, access, use, and share the information. You agree that the government needs to be on the case here and can’t ask anyone to turn over your telephone number or other personal information. We also argue that the government has a responsibility and liability to protect those under its control. So you have a right to access everything. But let me first ask you. Did anybody see your contact information? Could you see how you were using it? Can you see if we are violating your right to due process? If yes, then I’ll be your lawyer. As we are a government or corporation, we cannot ask anyone’s information. We just want to get to you as best we can with the best technology available. Do you still have them? Thanks.
