In some of the studies, I read about, I found that with cyber bullying, there
is very little material that is being taught to parents and students. The studies
show and repeat over and over on how to prevent and identify some of the
actions of a cyber bully. In the studies, there werent any mentions of cases or
incidents where there was any cyber bullies caught and prosecuted by the law.
Furthermore, I feel as though if there were more of these bullies being exposed
and made into examples, then teens, teachers, and parents would become more
educated and want to make sure that this type of behavior is not going on with
their own child or children. In a study done by the Hartford County Examiner
found that ” fewer than 1 in 5 cyber bullying incidents are reported to a law
enforcement agency.” Also, in this study “only 1 in 10 teenagers tells a parent if
they have been a cyber bully victim.” Again, I feel that studies need to be more
proactive about exposing the perpetrators, by doing so this will ensure that
people will get the picture about what is going on. I feel that this will get the
victim to talk to people more if they know that other people are feeling the
same way.
