Dalai Lama Case
Dalai Lama points out that the whole world is in a moral crisis, and we cannot ignore this fact as we hear about violence every day.
Dalai Lama in his writing about peace states that one of the main problems that the world faces is based on the path that Science and Technology is going through, this is in terms of the creation of weapons as well as he address the Nuclear Power and how the world unfortunately is at risk of the catastrophes that the nuclear power can generate as it could destroy the whole world. He points out the irony of how this problem is emanated from industrially societies in which from my point of view I agree, in a way as these countries are supposed to have a better and good quality of education.
Another issue that Dalai Lama presents is the rivalry of nationalities as well as how their interest are driven in an achievement of a destructive economic progress. In this part he refers that currently the tension of the world rivalry is focused from the “eastern bloc vs the western bloc”.
In response to how is the current state of the world, Dalai Lama outlines that as humans we have Universal Responsibilities, the main problems of the world are somehow because of greed, and one way to reach world peace is by reshaping our attitudes in the way that we should be more compassionate, we should think about others on how the desire of every being is similar to the ones we have, these are about reaching happiness and not suffering. Thus, in fact by acting this way we would achieve greater happiness on the long run than attaining happiness with greed and on the expense of others. We are too self-centered and we are forgetting about our humanity.
Also, as religions play a big role and which generated in part great violence in the world, Dalai Lama invites the leaders to contribute to world civilization by being more tolerant towards other religions, and in this way create unity between religions
