Ganging up on Cancer
Introduction
This paper “Ganging Up on Cancer: Integrative Research Centers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute” tells us a story where one of the members of the Institute’s Board of Trustees and chair of the Boards of Science Committee, Diana Cohn, makes a telephone call to Dr. Barrett Rollins, the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of the Dana—Farber Cancer Institute and demands answers on why the Institute is having internal difficulties getting along, allocating funds, making any progress on Cancer research and losing focus on Cancer because of a new direction that embraces other types of research that are not part of the Institute current business plan. Needless to say the hard-headed scientist and the lack of team work derailed the Institutes’ primary focus of finding a way to fight this horrible illness that is claiming 15,000 lives per year.

Hypothesis / Position of Article.
The Hypothesis looks at first as if it was focus on providing the best Cancer research and looking for the best outcomes in a suitable manner while expending the best of scientist and state of the art equipment the United States has to offer. In the mists of undertaking this great task of finding a cure or a better weapon to fight Cancer the personalities and individualities of the talented scientists involved in the project got the best of them which halted the project and also redirected the primary focus of Cancer research. The Institute had no management control by the brilliant mind of the Scientist in charge and created a chaos between him and other scientists which even cost the Institute grants. Therefore the dilemma is that which is most important; to have the best scientist in charge of the research and hope everything is going to be okay, or change the scientist and have management control but hope that research is going to be okay.
