The craft flew through space at warp speed, its destination: Mars.
Alien experiments had resulted in an army of cyborgs: robotic bodies with organic brains, each hellbent on the destruction of Earth.
Mankind’s salvation lay in the hands of just one man: Captain Ben, the Space Corp’s finest. But time was running out.
Impatiently, he armed the defensive shields and ordered the crew to fire up the thrusters.
An urgent voice came from below decks.
“Benjy, your bacon and eggs are ready!”
Benjy dropped the paper machД© spaceship, swept the robots into the toy box, and ran downstairs for breakfast.
You’ve been hired to design the art direction for a short film to be made from this story. Answer the following questions to indicate the look of this film.
Scene 1 = Space plot before hearing an “Urgent Voice”
Scene 2 = Urgent voice & breakfast message
Scene 3 = Childs room
What color palatte will you choose for these scenes? Why? Scene 1: create 3 Dimensional color palatte; Red planet mars, Dark background with streams of Silver/Red, spaceship if Gray/White and dark Green alien. Scene 2: Fade from the 3 Dimensional to Warm colors thus creating a comfort “Feeling” away from the dark space use of Red, Orange and Yellow haze. Scene 3: Use of “Cool Colors” bright room sunshine, blue/white and Toys don’t appear dark.
Will the palate change between the fantasy sequence and the later revelation of Benjy as a little boy? Yes, Transition from the space scene and into a child room
