I read the book Proof by David Auburn; it was about a young girl named Catherine who spent her years caring for her father and mastering mathematics and science. I choose this book because I love to do mathematics and to learn about the world of science. I can also relate a lot to Catherine, because my mother has a mental illness, just like Catherine’s Brilliant, but crazy father.
David Auburn was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1969, and raised in Ohio, Arkansas. He also wrote the book The Journals of Mihail Sebastian. He also started out writing Proof as a play, which was a big hit in broad way. Later on he turned the play into a book. He has received a Guggenheim fellowship and, for Proof the Kesselring prize. Which he dedicated to Benjamin Auburn (1972-2000). David Auburn currently lives in Brooklyn, New York
I Think David Auburn was suited to write about this topic because growing up as a young child his dad was a real-life physicist, so he knew a lot about this topic, which helped inspire him to write this amazing play and book.
