Orientation – Indelible week at IIMVExcitement for ‘being at IIM’ finally completed with one ofthe most acclaimed institutes of the nation in their initial years. Moving from West part of India to the East for educationhelped me apprehend about well-known saying ‘East or West, India is the Best’. Visakhapatnam, ‘the city of destiny’ is really doing well.Day nulla – July 17th,2016 As it was a ‘Welcome Dinner’ by the institute on Sunday evening before official start of the orientation program, I called it as a Day nulla (0 in Roman numerals). Everything was new & everyone was outlander.Day I– July 18th,2016Official inaugurationfor the program was preceded byRegistration process. There were welcome addresses by professors & well-knownindustry personalities followed by merit certificates’ distribution to Director’s merit list toppers. Various institute’s policies & available facilities were explained in the latter half of the day. Day II&III – July 19th& 20th,2016PGPprogram outline& administration information was apprised in the first half followed by Case Discussion methodology which is the most important thing to have at IIM. A momentous interaction with IIMB alumni & hearing their experiences made us realize the importance of entrepreneurship, self-confidence, family etc.Day IV – July 21st, 2016The day was dedicated for ‘Team building program’. Many of us were made aware of each other’s background by simple but striking tasks. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day with full of enthusiasm, shared their hopes for next 2 years at IIMV & crafted an action plan to anticipate the same.Day V – July 22nd, 2016The ‘Outbound Programme’was an eye-catcher of the day. It emphasized the importance of physical activities in our day to day lives. Passing through spider’s web like matrix without touching any strand of the web realized the significance of team work & trust which we should have on our peers.
