It was established as a national park on October 31, 1994. Death Valley is one of the largest parks in the United States. It takes up about 5,270 mi² of land. The size is why it’s considered to be a part of California and Nevada. No matter what season it is, it is a very dry place. It hardly rains there, the average yearly rainfall recorded is 1.92 inches.The park has a lot of wildlife such as Antelope Squirrels and Kangaroo Rats, but they are the smaller ones, which are hunted by the bigger animals they have. Coyotes, Kit Foxes and Bobcats are the bigger ones but the largest animal at the park is the Big Horned Sheep. Most of these animals can be seen on the many hiking trails at the park. On the hiking trails, they have signs up with information on the park, the animals and the plants. Many people like to stop and read the signs to learn about everything.
According to the official website, Death Valley has designated picnic tables and bathrooms to rest at before and or after hiking on the trails. People like to go up to the park to spend time with family, relax and enjoy the fresh air. As well as picnic tables and trails, there are also spots that are used for people that want to camp. Like any park, they have rules for when camping. Some of the rules include, no hunting the animals, no smoking, no alcohol and no littering. There are fines if someone gets caught breaking the rules. More than a million people visit Death Valley each year. It is a great place for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Everyone goes for different reasons, weather it be to forget everyday problems or to just have fun. It is one of the top most visited national parks in the United States.

Camping in Death Valley
Most of the other national parks are open to any camping, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling, but if you don’t like them all, you have to stop by this National Park site for some good times to relax and get ready for the weekend.
Take the Teton National Park Trail to the trailhead on the right. The trail climbs above and around Death Valley and begins in this well-hidden area called the Great Mountain. It has been designated a “tourism or activity area.” The Trail can be found on the left of this monument and the Grand Divide National Recreation Area, and over at the top of Mount Whitney. When you go to the trailhead, turn on the torch and head back into the campground. It is not advisable to stay overnight before starting a new camp at this location. In addition to that, your trail can be used only by people over 21 and only in places that are open to the public. If your vehicle is closed on a designated day the campground does not have a sign to notify you of the closure.
It is strongly recommended that a vehicle is properly towed at all times, especially if you don’t like camping. Your vehicle can carry only 30 gallons of waste materials. If you have a permit that says you can use this trail as a public road if you use a trailer it is strongly recommended that you have the approved vehicle and a permit to carry any large container you want to bring to the Wilderness and you must bring it with you. After you have put in your vehicle, ask any wildlife officials, campers and hikers to take care of you for a full day off after each camp. Keep in mind that it can be very messy, and could also cause the Wilderness to get slippery. Make sure you get your permit as promptly as possible. Do not expect to sleep in or drink in the campsites. The fire hazards are extremely light compared to other parts of the country.
