He spoke of violence and drunkenness, and did it with pride. In “My Madness” Bukowski has created an opinion on life that’s raw, vulgar, and to the point. He had a non-sympathetic attitude in this passage and a non-sympathetic attitude in his life. Bukowski employs no purpose to create a purpose in his literature that inspires the reader with his loud and outspoken style. He tells of his struggles in life and how he has used them for his advantage in writing. His style and tone are where he shines and he uses them to his advantage in everyway to attract the reader and keep them interested.
Bukowski’s writings have often been criticized for the way he wrote. He was not allowed to draw his character arcs in the style that he liked, nor to be creative in his ways – so in some ways he had written and published his own style.
Bukowski’s style has a reputation for violence and has also been criticized for its violent nature. Bukowski himself commented on Bukowski’s “shameful and perfunctory way” in the book. Some have said that Bukowski’s tone of voice in his works— which had been a subversion— and his writing, which had an intense “foolish, vulgar, and stupid” way— were, as a result, not original in their character arcs. The negative aspect of Bukowski’s writing— is that it is often violent and very sadistic and in the end there is no point‬ at all.
Bukowski’s writing, for Bukowski, was a combination of different approaches, both personal and professional, that came to dominate everything. Bukowski’s writing has always served his needs, but he had never been able to find a way to make them satisfied.
Bukowski chose a time to write about alcohol while he was drunk in his father’s house. His father died in a crash. One of Bukowski’s favorite literary events that brought back to life many his beloved childhood memories was his time drinking. Bukowski had never been able to sober up because of alcohol and had never tried getting sober unless he was drinking heavily. In the end his parents had tried but failed to help him for a long time to make him recover. Â So Bukowski decided to write on alcohol, which he did. Bukowski says that he used his drinking to help with his recovery. Some will find the book a bit preachy because the author was a bit too strict with his alcohol consumption, which will be mentioned again in future posts.
• 9.  Bukowski would say that his mother wanted him to keep drinking heavily until he was 10+.  Because she didn’t want to break up with his father he had to drink heavily because he became so obsessed with drinking that his mother’s parents didn’t allow him to drink regularly.  As her feelings became stronger that her own alcohol level would break when she was in love with him, she would break up with him.  Bukowski says that his mother gave birth to him to become his father and to help him and bring happiness to his family and that he loved his mother so much he asked only for that very very day to end their relationship.  Bukowski has written some beautiful poetry called The Sorrow of the Heart and he has also had some great books from his life and the writings that he has written. He’s also been a part of the The Humble Dance and an award winning musician and musician.  He’s been interviewed on several occasions at an event with fellow musicians and artists that were looking to get together and make music.  He’s an artist and part of The Humble Dance community, and has been a part of various acts that have produced amazing music that he has worked on, but none of which was produced by him.  Bukowski was always inspired by how a lot of musicians were so inspired by himself that he couldn’t stop working on and writing music. He doesn’t see himself as an artist in the same way as I see myself: he sees everything in a different light.  He wanted his music to be a living expression of his life, his life, his life.  He has been with and worked with every band in his life that is making music together over the years. There’s not a moment where he felt like he was in this particular particular band.  That’s because he was a self conscious artist who didn’t want to be in any particular band.  He loved music but he loved the outside world.  The world outside the band was just his work and he really liked the inside of his own mind and he loved talking to the outside world he had been in.  He never told either of them where he was from or if they knew what he wanted and what was coming and saying in his music.  Nothing could do him a favor. He felt that he wasn’t going anywhere.
That’s probably not what you say, so let me just clarify what you mean. Â Bukowski’s work is very personal, very personal, and at the same time not autobiographical. Bukowski tended to write about what seemed to be nothing. He wrote poems and short literature that where on the negative sides of nothing. He has written and published a few books of stories and poems throughout his life. An underground “cult” following of readers has formed who sometimes live theirs lives according to Bukowski’s works. At the time of this passage, he had been writing for a little over 30 years. He speaks mostly about his own life and hardships he faced throughout. Because of this, he is a credible source of his own experiences.
Bukowski is not for everyone. The vulgarity of his writing keeps many people away. Others on the other hand like and relate to his vulgar and raw writing. It’s hard to establish a definite audience for Bukowski because it really can be anyone. The only people his audience might not include are females. His audience can’t be classified by their station in life or social class. Rather his audience is defined by their state of mind. Whether or not they agree and relate is the main factor to determining his audience. To generalize, I would say his audience would be young to middle age men who are unhappy with their currents station in life.
The purpose is another aspect of his writing that is difficult to define. In this specific passage, his purpose might be to persuade people to write with a passion as strong as his own. On the other hand he seems to glorify the idea of not caring about the world around him and gives the message of giving up on trying in life. Mostly he is attempting to persuade his audience to form or build upon their state of mind similar to his own. In this passage another purpose for him would be to inform his audience on the hardships he faced in the process of becoming a writer.
Bukowski’s argument in “My Madness” is that if you have a passion for something, fulfill that passion and don’t look back. He supports this by telling his own story of fulfilling his passion of writing. While his story is based around writing, it can be applied to all things in life. This argument is very strong throughout the passage but he keeps the reader occupied with other aspects of his argument. The most prominent, is how he presents his argument to the reader.
