Abortion Should Be Legal All Over the World
Abortion should be legal all over the worldAbortion is defined as “The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks.” by the Oxford Dictionary. We all know what abortion means and that there has always been a lot of controversy around it. You can see angry groups standing around clinics showing pictures of cruel killing small babies while ashamed women are walking away Abortion has been happening for decades and although it was (and somewhere still is) prohibited in many countries, it never stopped women from doing it. So what steps should be taken to stop this? Why people keep arguing about this theme? And isn’t it time to make a decision? Most arguments from the con side are based on the statement: “Everyone has a right to live, the baby is a human being too and it should have their own human rights.” These types of arguments are sometimes supported by any kind of Sacred Texts. Also, a part of the argument could be some pictures taken after the process of abortion. They are supposed to make the whole procedure look like cruel act of killing innocent babies.Let’s have a look on the same theme from the opposite side. Most of the pictures shown on anti-abortion posters and signs are intentionally chosen to make you feel bad. The foetus doesn’t have anything what would remind a heart until the 6th week of pregnancy according to Human Embryology.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights doesn’t contain in any of its parts when they actually start to apply. It says “every human being”, but since we don’t know from which moment the foetus starts to be a human being, we can’t say abortion is against any human rights. The first article starts with a sentence: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. “ Does this mean that we gain human rights at the moment we are born, if the declaration doesn’t specify?  We live in the 21st century and we should not base our laws on religious beliefs. State and church must be separate and operate independently on each other. Sacred Texts should not be used as an argument to prohibit abortion. Actually, the world is changing the other way… More and more people are becoming atheists every year. According to Pew Research Center the number of people not feeling affiliated to any religion was 1.1 billion in 2012. Religion is a free option for everybody. Every person has his right to choose what he wants to believe and what he wants to follow. On the other hand, laws of certain countries are mandatory for all their citizens, it is on the higher level of importance than the religious rules. Therefore the question of abortion should not be answered by no, based on some optional rules which don’t apply on everyone.
