The company majorly deals in supply of a number of fashion products ranging from shoes, clothing and other apparels. Established in 2010, the company has grown to become one of the giants in the fashion market in Minnesota State. At the moment, the Company has a single unit based in Minnesota. However, plans are underway and the firm is really considering opening up to other markets due to the overwhelming demand as well as the growth that it has witnessed over the past five years of its existence. The human resource team of ABC is well staffed with a total of forty-nine staff members and other five workers on a non-permanent basis, but all whom have a long lasting contract with the firm. Technically, the total number of employees in the firm are fifty-five. The firm also has various departments that are in charge of various operations that aid the smooth running of the organization.
In light of the above description, ABC Ltd handles significant amounts of data at a given time. Receipts of various transactions, invoices, payment of salaries, employee profiles, customer profiles, among other numerous data are all in custody of the firm in the various departments. The large number of data available for the organization prompted the management to introduce the use of computers to store some of the information available for the company. However, these computers were separately sent to various departments to help them in safe custody and tracing of the files when necessary. However, these files are not linked and they serve the basic functions such as minor calculations, file storage, clients profile among other general and very basic functions. ProblemThe rate of growth that ABC has registered in the past five years and particularly the tremendous increment in the number of transactions and communications made by the company, it has become overly essential that the firm considers the introduction of a new system to help in data management; collection of data, transfer of data, payments, processing of data and other procedures that relate to the management of data(Stubbs, 2011). This way, there is a need for the systems used at ABC to perform various functions to be synchronizedso that they can be managed from a single source.
