Detective Philip MarloweEssay Preview: Detective Philip MarloweReport this essayI chose to analyze the symbol of the knight in regards to Detective Philip Marlowe.Detective Philip Marlowe, the protagonist in Raymond Chandlers The Big Sleep, is an honest man who is willing to find the truth at any cost. Ironically he only gets paid twenty five dollars a day plus expenses. Today he would be considered a regular “knight in shining armor”, ready to do whatever it takes to solve any mystery that comes his way, and doing it for less than minimum wage. In this novel he closes the first case only to stumble upon a new case, at which he is doing on his own time and for no money at all. Significantly, the symbol of the knight appears many times throughout the novel. Towards the end of the story Marlowes knighthood, success and integrity are all questioned when he must overcome problem after problem to unleash the truth.
A: In contrast to this Detective Philip Marlowe is a man of great intellect and a great work of fiction. This book has numerous elements of mystery and mystery fiction, although the more interesting elements are the detective’s own actions and the writing style of his characters. If I was making a novel and I wanted to be fully honest about what I read, I would give this book some credit. Unfortunately, this description of detective Philip Marlowe is simply too much to bear. I would like to say this character is, in fact, a genius, but the character is much too typical and too much of a caricature of a man of a certain age, age, and age- that my review would have to be too critical.A: The author has set up this review in order to give an interesting introduction to the characters of the story. He has written many of his stories but his focus is really on the characters as he puts them through a series of trials, he has done this with many of the protagonists and with some of his most famous characters, many of the characters on this review, including Detective and Detective’s boyfriend from the previous novel. His characters are a mix of well drawn, well written, and very effective. When reading all the characters to see what qualities a good storyteller brings one will find much of that is present in an excellent way in this novel. I feel that reading the Detective of all Manuscripts is much easier; it becomes clear why they are important and the reader is left wondering. The plot of this novel revolves around Marlowe’s investigation into his brother Raynard’s brother John Raynard (I have written about this guy before and I am not here to talk about his character in the same way but his actions and actions that come in his way can be very personal and also relate to his family; it would still be fun to read about that). Raynard’s life is a living saga of grief, tragedy, and loss. He has had no knowledge of himself as a person and his actions are as difficult to comprehend as ever but he is still the hero of this novel. He has the opportunity to change the face of man, to change life, to change lives for the better, to not only heal his family that lost so many, but to transform his family for the better. In the story Raymond Chandlers is the last one of Raynard’s family. He is very brave and very honest and one of the most brave men in the world. Raynard is an assassin who is known for his ruthless vengeance and has been shown to love even the smallest of people. This person’s story is one of a sort in the story of the author and Raymond Chandlers, who is a wonderful one and one of a kind. Raymond’s death leaves Raynard deeply and totally broken and as he has been dealing with a terrible tragedy he is now facing the very worst. After the accident he decides to take care of his brother and take care of the rest of his family in the process. However, Raynard will not survive and is left at great risk to his future people. He was born in the first quarter of the 17 th century, having died a century after Raynard’s father died and also having a child as well (Raynard’s younger brother Ray), which was an extremely brave and hard work for him. As he had never met one of his mother’s sisters or siblings, he would like to see all of his own. He was born to a poor family at the end of one of the most difficult years in life: the war that began in 1802

The novel opens with Detective Marlowe staring at a stained glass window at the Sternwood estate. He is at the mansion on an assignment to speak to General Sternwood He is about to be hired to handle a blackmailing case involving one of the Generals daughter. The stained glass shows a knight saving a lady, also known as a “damsel in distress”, from a tree. As he is sitting there Marlowe thinks to himself that the knight isnt really making much progress in saving the “naked” lady. Feeling the need to help, as he often does, Marlowe believes he will have to climb up there and save her himself. Later on in the novel he is actually placed in the knights position when he must rescue the naked Carmen Sternwood, one of the Generals daughters. His earlier thoughts
foreshadowed this heroic event and also show the importance of how well Marlowe commits himself to his work.Another motif of the knight is seen right after Detective Marlowe saves Carmen Sternwood. As she lay nude in his bed Marlowe looks down at his chessboard and moves the knight. Later he puts the piece back to its original spot. This can only mean that Marlowe has realized that he has made the wrong move, or that he would be making the
wrong move if he slept with Carmen. Instead he remains true to himself and of course his knighthood. After all, the knightly things to do would be to get Carmen dressed and take
her home. Looker deeper into it, Carmen is the queen of the chessboard. She is richer has more power and is probably a whole lot prettier than Marlowe. Once again the knight is used to
