Reflected Appraisal – one of the influences on the development of self-concept. The term refers to a process where we imagine how other people see us. For example, if people treat us as the leader of the group, we take on this role by affirming this identity through the means of their appraisals. In Sex & the City, the final Dolce & Gabana outfit that Carrie tries on is a little bit out of her comfort zone, along with her make-up she knows by looking in the mirror, she perceives herself to look foolish, therefore calls her best friend Samantha because she knows she will tell her the truth. Once she approves her attitude changes almost instantly and struts her stuff down that runway!
Nonverbal communication – the process of communication through sending and receiving wordless (mostly visual) cues between people. It is sometimes mistakenly referred to as body language, but nonverbal communication encompasses much more, such as use of voice, touch, and distance. He looks at him as if he isnt human and eventually leaves the fashion show because of it! He had a totally different vision of him in his head.

She then finds out that he thought she was sexy when in her Hanes 3$ T-shirt and sweating like a pig. She is then seen talking on the phone to Carrie about how confused she was when a guy thought she was sexy. She even calls her self not sexy, cute, but not sexy, this is a form of negative self-talk.
Self-Concept/ Self – Esteem is used to describe a persons overall sense of self-worth or personal value. Self-esteem is often seen as a personality trait, which means that it tends to be stable and enduring. Self-esteem can involve a variety of beliefs about the self, such as the appraisal of ones own appearance, beliefs, emotions and behaviors. In Sex & the City numerous times Carrie thinks that the fashion show is a bad idea because she isnt a model! She talks herself down, talks herself up and eventually compares herself to Heidi Klum! Every time someones mentions her being a model,
