MOTIVATION
Motivation can be found everywhere you look, people have been motivated by all times of events, awards, location, and curcumtances, it all depends on what needs you want to satisfy. As noted by (T.S Bateman &, S.A Snell, (2011), “people have different needs energizing and motivating them towards different goals and rein forcers.”(Pp.462-463) once a person can identify their needs they can succeed in reaching their goals. For example as a college student, I need all the tools necessary to help reach my goal of getting an A in my class. These tools include laptop, writing utensils, paper, and text books, if I dont get my needs met, I am at risk of failing my class, and in turn wont reach my goal. (T.S Bateman &, S.A Snell, (2011), “The most important theories describing the content of peoples are Maslows need hierarchy, Alderfers ERG theory, and McClellands needs” (Pp. 462-463). As discussed by (T.S Bateman &, S.A Snell, (2011) Maslow belief was that there are five main needs people have, starting with Physiological, which includes food, water, sex, and shelter. Then comes safety or security, protection against threat and deprivation. After that is social, being loved or belonging, next to that is our ego. Last but not least is self-actualization which means realizing ones full potential (Pp462-463). I think the most important personal needs that individual need to be met is food and shelter. It is very hard to stay motivated when you dont have food and shelter, although hunger and the cold are good reason to keep pushing, they are both factors that can physically stop a person from achieving any goals. If these basic needs are not met then an individual well not have physical strength to move one. Thoughts of food and water well make any person lose track of their goals. Personally I think as long as my physiological needs are met then that should be enough fuel for me to move on.
