A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed
There are many songs, poems and legends written about friendship. Every person has friends and, in my opinion, only due to the friendship one can show the best features of his character.
The proverb says: “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. I agree with this statement, because the real worth of a person is known when we fall on bad days. Fair-weather friends leave us in difficult situations, but real ones stay with us forever.
Of course, we can identify our true friends not only in sorrow, but also in joy. For example, if you have achieved great success in any case, many people would envy you, and only a real friend just be glad together with you.
As for me, the word friendship has become very cheap in the modern times. We call everybody who comes into our contact our friend. Mere acquaintances or those with whom we study cannot be called friends.
Friendship is a very complex feeling. Different shades get mixed up with it: respect, love, protection, favour and so on. “Friendship in pure form”, so to say, does not exist. So, every person makes his own decision whether to trust his friends absolutely or keep some secrets from them.
To cut the long story short, the company of friends makes life happy, interesting and worth living. Without friends mans life would be dry, dull and dreary. But it is rather difficult to choose the person who really wants you to be happy. I hope, I’ll make the right choice!
