This paper presents an up to date organizational chart for Esterline Corporation. It analyzes its current organizational structure, identifies the advantages and disadvantages, and determines the efficiency and effectiveness of this structure in today’s environment. Followed by a new suggested organizational structure chart, identifies recommendations and reasons for the suggested change. The conclusion for the paper will define the best organization structure out of the two, and will explain the reasons behind this decision.
Esterline Corporation is a multinational organization that operates manufacturing facilities in thirteen U.S. states, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, and the United Kingdom. The company specialized in manufacturing a variety of products to the aerospace and defense markets. Approximately 80% of total revenues are generated equally between these two markets and the remaining is from the same technological applications applied to adjacent markets. In its current organizational structure, the company corporate reside in Bellevue, WA managed by a group of executive directors. Chairman, President and CEO is Curtis C. Reusser, Robert D. George as Vice President, CFO, Corporate Development & Secretary, Marcia J. Mason as Vice President, Human Resources, and Gary J. Posner is the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. The organization structure operates within three divisions segments.
Esterline Divisions
Avionics & Controls
In this segment the focus is on technological systems interface for commercial, military aircraft, and similar devices. To use for land and sea based military vehicles, secure communications systems, and high performance digital receivers. This technology applies to specialized medical equipment, as well as other high-end industrial applications. Frank E. Houston as President, Avionics & Controls Segment is leading the division supported by administrative team. The division includes three companies, Avionics Systems, Control & Communication Systems, and Interface Technologies.
Sensors & Systems
Alain M. Durand is the president of the Sensors and Systems division. Supported by high level group of admin staff he manages the division. It operates production of high precision temperature and pressure sensors, fluid and motion control components, as well as power distribution systems. This segment responsible for rough environment interconnects solutions, and any other related aerospace and defense systems. In this division three companies executes, Advanced Sensors, Power Systems, and Connection Technologies.
Advanced Materials
Focuses on advanced materials process related technologies. This segment
