Doctor Pet in Here
Doctor Pet (Attention)Good afternoon everyone. There was a girl, her mother passed away. She lay on the bed and did not speak to anyone. Feeling concerned, her father contacted many physicians to see her, but had no success. One day, the girl was introduced to a cat. At first the girl did not respond. The cat begun to look at her meowing a few times and used its tail to brush up against her nose. The girl smiled and played with the cat. She stood up and her low depressive symptoms emotions faded. Although this seems to be a fairy tail, it wasn’t. Founded in 19th century, there was a psychiatric nursing home in Germany that used animals to help people feeling stressed or depressed. Believe it or not, animals were able help release their stress, and perhaps one day help you. After working as a volunteer for Doctor Pet and doing additional research for this speech, I want to encourage you to donate your time as a Doctor Pet volunteer. We will start by looking at the need for volunteers.
(Need)As Doctor Pet Service has grown over the years, so has the need for volunteers. According to the website of Doctor Pet Organization, there are more than 100 doctor pet in HK. The pet must be at least one year old and must be identified as having a good mental and physical health. They offer many services like visiting children who are sick, the elderly who live alone etc. As Doctor Pet Service continues to grow, it will also need more volunteers. Here in HK, there are 133 doctor pets and 500 volunteers. However, more volunteers are required to take care of these animals when carrying out their duties. So… how can you to help? (Satisfaction)The answer is… become a volunteer! The most common role for volunteers is to become a caregiver for the animals. You don’t need to have prior owner experience. Nor do you need to have a pet. Doctor Pet Organization offers a general course on the principles of caring for its animals. It also offers a time for new volunteers to familiarize themselves with the pets. It is a condition for volunteers to love the animals. However, if being a caregiver is not for you, there are other ways to help. You can work behind the scenes by assisting with food and drink during the activity or help to organize the activity. Another simple way to help is to donate your money to support the service.
